REBA’s history

 

REBA’s detailed history by the current owner is kept in her Ship’s Log, her Owner’s Inventory and her surveys. However a summary, based on both what we know and what we have heard from others, is as follows:

 

REBA was completed in 1986 at Celestial Yachts, Xiamen (formerly Amoy Island), China (PRC). The Celestial 48 was designed by Bryce Fuhriman, the American owner of Celestial. Her construction was about midway through production of some estimated 30-40 Celestial 48s, at the highpoint in C-48 design and quality. She features Asian teak and parts from USA and the British Commonwealth.

 

REBA has had three prior owners who used her as liveaboards and for daysailing.

 

During their 12-year ownership, Steve and Jamie Sidells have continuously upgraded and improved REBA’s condition and performance. We have changed REBA from a dockside liveaboard to a very comfortable and capable world cruiser. We enjoy quality features as well as having a safe and attractive boat. This makes REBA quite unique and distinctive. Many, but not all, of these improvements are shown in this site’s detailed photos.
